Why I share lyrics of my songs with friends and relatives.

Re: my diary

the update was of something that happened quite sometime ago... maybe, a year or more because since the start of the new year up to june 2010 we were out of the house... and if not for elliot, i would never have learned about the condition of reggie, well maybe because she herself must have wanted for me not to know.... well, she has every right to keep things to herself.. and i cannot complain...

as for talent, that is what i really don't have because if i had talent, i would have been writing songs since way back...and not when i was already what 1989-1942 is 47 years old... that's what i've been trying to say all along... everyone thinks i have the talent just because i have written over 50 songs, and i have written about 5 songs about my hometown and province of romblon just this year alone, and a song for the gaward alumni for the romblon high school facebook....

i appreciate your congratulatory remarks... but again, i have to take exception to your statement that everybody has a gift, for i don't have a gift for writing songs... like i said, if i had it, i would have been writing songs since before i was 47 years old... i could not even write a poem when i was in high school and college although i really   tried...

if not for ka art p. madulid of penaranda, nueva ecija, i would never have learned to write songs...and though what i've written may never be accepted as remarkable by others, i am happy to know that although i have no gift for music, i still managed to learn before it was too late how to write songs...

this is the lesson that i wish others to see from my experience... this is actually what i expected... that others might appreciate the lyrics of my songs in the light of this truth...

and not that others might think that the said lyrics came naturally as a matter of gift... if you look at my lyrics in this context, you wll begin perhaps to read line by line and ponder how in the world i was able to put these lines together...

and really appreciate for the first time why i am keen on sharing them with anyone like you....and then at the end, you may come to an honest conclusion whether or not as a piece of literary work my lyrics are worth a grain of salt...

that is why when junix sent us via fbook a video of addie singing on stage with jun accompanying her on the piano or keyboard in a talen show, i really took pains in looking at the vide so i could give an honest appraisal of how addie performed on stage... much as i wanted to just say congratulations, great job, or other phrases of praise, i explained how addie rated in terms of stage presence, audience contact, control of her performance, and of whether she showed any sign of nervousness or stage fright...of course, in addition to how her voice sounded and how her timing was....and as to whether or not she actually enjopyed what she was dong...

i said i owed it to addie to do this because she volunteered to go on stage to participate in this talent show on her own....and therefore, i could do not less...

like when somebody gives us a gift on any occasion, we try to appreciate the gift...we try our best not to disappoint the gift-giver by really taking a good look at the gift and honestly and sincerely giving our thanks for it...

why, when i share the lyrics of my songs with anyone, it's just like i shared with them a part of myself, my thoughts, my feelings... my sentiments, and even perhaps my soul....maybe, if it were great sums of money i was sharing with others, maybe, the situation would have been different... but in this case, i am sharing something even more valuable than money...

i am sharing an intangible gift.... worth perhaps more than anything that money can buy....i am sharing something borne out of love...of joy, and of goodwill to my fellowmen....

regards,

bomboy
