dear diary,
the information i now have with respect to birthdays is the result of the suggestion of your tita honor that the bm clan should have a calendar of not only birthdays but also of other dates like... wedding anniversaries and death anniversaries....
the Fam Madrid facebook is the result of the suggestion of junix that maybe we can use facebook in pursuing the purposes for which the bm clan was organized... i thought everyone would welcome this idea so i did try to find a way to put up this fam madrid facebook... of course, we all realize the advantage of having facebook take the place of the bm clan newsletter for those who are in facebook... it will be recalled that
the BmClan Newsletter was the brainchild of ate aurora...she wrote an introductory sketch on the life of Impong Bibiana Cuevas Madrid in one the first issues of the newsletter...
with respect to birthdays, facebook again has an advantage because it posts reminders of the birthdays of those who are in facebook....
same with emails, because a facebook account starts with having an email address... mostly, yahoo ones.... and i have gotten email addresses from facebook accounts...
but yes, we can set up a directory of email addresses too... especially, if there is a way of getting email addresses of people who are not in facebook... because there are family members who are not there... before, i found it easy to look for email addresses... now, i seem to be unable to find them in the internet searches... maybe you can give me some tips on this....
and by the way, although your tita honor is not in facebook, she has already given me consent to post therein two of her emails to me which have something to do with family matters... first, her email to me regarding the funeral services for sen ted kennedy, and yesterday, her email about lessons from the refrigerator... if you have time, please go visit our facebook account.... or better still, post some items there like kuyang winnie's boston and harvard trip....
l myself have found facebook informative.. there are many postings in the fam madrid made by younger members of the acejas clan and i don't even know many of them... i write to them and ask who they are... and i also look them up in the family sketches that i made before... of course, they are mainly from kuyang salvador's branch of the family... and so, i am able to trace who these youngs are..
like the daughter of alice b. acejas, she was in the grade school only when we had the bm clan newsletter... from facebook we see that she just graduated from miriam college this march with a degree in phschology... and i even asked her for some tips on how to deal with my anxieties and paranoia....
there are items in fam madrid which you might also find interesting if you just look them over... like do you know what the second husband of bibiana madrid did for a living... or that she even had a second husband... the father of your lola florentina j. acejas... you know we have family roots... and we should be glad we can still trace them for our own benefit and for the benefit of the younger generation of our family...
