family tree
dear diary,
it was not very long after tita baby and i came here
in 1997 that the family tree project came up
in a mini reunion held at the residence of
josie and george villareal. right now i cannot recall
the date we had this mini reunion.
anyway, one of the first activities undertaken under
this family tree project was the publication of the
BM clan newsletter. i think there were a couple
or more issues of this newsletter until it came to a halt
because everyone involved in it got busier in the
conduct of their respective work.
then, came the effort to create a family birthday
and anniversary calendar and the same came into
fruition with my email of november 20,2000 wherein
i wrote down the birthdays and anniversaries i had gathered
up to that time from january to december. i did this in
an email to marivic dated november 2, 2000.
we were supposed to create a database where
we could gather and save all information
pertinent to the family tree, and had we done so, then the
family and anniversary calendar could have been
stored therein too.
ate aurora wrote an initial segment on the lifestory
of impo that appeared in one of the issues of the
BM clan newsletter. and kuyang ted also
wrote me emails about the lifestory of itay or tio
andoy paulino, and also about silvino jimenez,
second husband of impo bibiana madrid, while
uncle sorcio wrote an email about the lifestory
of the hernandez family, including that of silvestre
hernandez, first husband of impo bibiana madrid.
there were certain interesting issues that came up
on account of this lifestories too. and also there
came up suggestions that it was time to have somebody
write an article about the "here and there" - or news
tidbits about our living relatives and what they're doing.
and so, in my next letter to you, i will try to give you
more details about the above subject matters.
i am doing this so i can comply as best as i could
with my duties as the assistant family historian. i
just wish everyone with whom i will share whatever
i may write in this regard will also do their part
by keeping on file whatever i may send them by
email for future reference.
otherwise, everything i might do in this regard
will just be forgotten and will thus be in vain.
