dear diary,
hope you and george are doing just great these days...it's been so long
since i last wrote you so i thought i might just as well break the
silence...
i heard you're taking a vacation home this november....i hope you could
stay there till the 28th for the altar date of my second child
netnet...we'll be there, God willing, on the 12th....kuyang ted and ate
ine will be two of the wedding sponsors, along with ate aurora who is
also one of netnet's netnet's baptismal sponsors. marivic is also going
home on the 28th of october... but she can't stay till the wedding....
i hope though she'd still be there by time we arrive....it would be
nice to have a mini reunion there with you and her around...is george
coming with you?
i guess this all that i got for now...life here has been pretty much
routine for a long time now...although these days baby and i get to
drive allen to and from school every tuesdays and wednesdays for a
change...this has also given us a chance to take up walking for an
exercise on those days...and maybe on thursdays too... when we could go
with tess when she drives allen to school. we started last
tuesday...walking around the parking lot which is about as large as a
track and field oval for a least 15 minutes for three days might be good
for my blood pressure, my heart...and hopefully, for my diabetes.
anyway, i hope everybody has sent in his/her expansion of the family
tree...how far has the project gone so far,,,? it would be nice if we
could start giving a "human face", as george puts it, to those who
make up the family tree for the benefit of the younger members of the
clan...although i'm just as excited to know more about ancestors as
well...i have even suggested to marivic in her capacity as editor of the
clan newsletter to request members of each of our families to start
writing biographical sketches of our respective families, starting with
our own respective parents...i understand ate aurora has started doing
the bio-sketch of impo already...and i know ninang juana can provide her
with a lot of memories and materials herself...as most of those who knew
impo very well can..
i wish i had more vivid recollections of impo myself...but i guess i was
still just too young when i met her to have been able to form such
recollections of her... and i didn't know her too long to know her that
well...in fact, i know very little about her and her life story...it's
good i even had the chance to meet her during those times i spent my
vacation at your home in gen malvar... you, tessie and i were still in
the grades...i doubt if you even still remember...
of course, i remember that impo also went to stay with us in romblon for a very short
while...and i had to act her unwilling escort when she would want to go
our moro home from our patalan store...and she would walk ever so slowly
it would take us so long to negotiate such a short distance of less than
a probably a 100 meters...time i thought i could have well spent playing
with my childhood friends already...
have you heard from perlynn lately...i haven't... but i hope she's doing
great herself too...although by this time she'd probably be missing
lizzie too much already... i'm just glad i didn't go through the same
experience when my own children were still going to school. seems like
it was too long ago...my greatest worry then was of course whether i
could afford to send them to college at all... which is why i did my
best to convince allan and netnet to go to a state college then...
imagine...i spent only P400 for each of them per semester for four years
since they agreed to go to the polytechnic university of the
philippines. and allan wanted to go to la salle at that time because he
finished high school from notre dame, a sister school of la salle. and
if he did, then i would have been forced to send netnet there too. and
to think that they were starting college at the same time...
so, okay, i hope you two have a nice and a happy weekend. as for me,
today is the start of baby's work-week and so, of mine too. i have to
drive her to and from work starting at 1 pm today ...for another whole
week... so got to go and rest for a while now...
