Subject: Hello again
dear diary,
ang sarap lang makatanggap ng sulat galing sa mga kamag-anak tulad ng natanggap kong sulat na ito..ang saib dito ay:
Glad you had a nice birthday. Being able to eat Chinese dinner with
family, playing golf, having your mind & body healthy & intact, what
more can you ask out of life?
When I was home last Nov., I attended the funeral of one of our best
friends of 33 years.( After living away from the Phil for 35 yrs., he
chose to be buried at home) Our friend, an engineer, used to be very
healthy until he was diagnosed with Lou Gehrig's disease & he died 18
months later after being paralyzed from the nose down. He couldn't even
swallow food or liquid. Now everyday day that I wake up, I thank God I'm
alive & well.
Since I'm not working, I find great stimulation by doing the crossword
puzzles, & reading online magazines like "Slate" owned & run by
Microsoft. You may want to check it out when you get tired of reading
the Phil. online newspapers.
Enjoyed reading your e-mail about Doring & his children. Being away from
the Phil. for 34 yrs., I'm out of touch & I've never met any of Doring's
children except Olive. Glad to hear they're doing well.
