dear diary,
Hi Bomboy,
First of all, Happy Birthday. May you have many more birthdays to come.
I have been giving the family tree a lot of thought. My main concern is
how to organize the information concisely and still be able to provide
interesting and adequate information about each member.
Some ideas are;
1.. Have a diagram that gives an overall view of the whole clan and its
branches. This diagram will not be cluttered with info about the
specific members. I am thinking of a computer program that Kuya Ted and
Allan have already prepared in prelimanary form.
2. Create a numbering system that would assign a unique number to each
member. One can then go to a file with the unique number which will
contain data about the individual member,
3, The member data file will be prepared by the member himself/herself.
The file info can be basic or extensive according to the member's
preference.
4. A family branch ( this level can be defined according to agreed
parameters) may also write a historical sketch.
The historian will provide the overall historical perspective about
the clan and its roots.
5. There has to be a designated clan historian to update and maintain
consistency in data gathering. The logical person to take on this
responsibility, in my view, is you.
6. Family branch and individual photos may be added as preferred or as
appropriate.
7. The hard copy format should be developed by an editorial staff
subject to review by branch representatvies.
Anyway these are my thoughts about the family tree. The basic and
preliminary org chart format that I initially prepared is too cumbersome
for the fairly complex and extensive family diagram that is now
developing.
Based on what I''ve seem so far, the tree is becomming more of a Madrid
tree than Bibiana Madrid tree. I think it is ok to expand the coverage.
Let me know what you think. Again, enjoy the day and cheers.
Best regards,
George
