si berting yong first na apo ng parents ko... kaya lang nagkaron siya ng problema sa kidney after several yrs na naging priest sya sa isang parish sa romblon... dahil ata sa alat ng tubig doon... kaya maaga siyang nawala.... syang nga eh... matanda na yong family namin... dalwa na lang nga kami na natitirang magkapatid... yong pinakamatanda naming sister at ako na lang... pero sakitin na rin ako..at matanda na rin... kaya nga gusto kong magawa ang ating family tree para sa benefit ng mga apo namin... kasi pag di nila nakita yan, wala na, di na nila kayo makikilala at ganon din kayo... di na nyo sila makikilala... tulad ng mga acejas sa zamboanga... di na natin alam kung ano talga ang ating relations... kayo na lang dyan sa capiz ang puedeng ma trace na relatives ni papa...kaya ko sinusulat ang diary ko para sa mga apo namin...

sana bigyan mo ng time itong project na ito for the sake of the future generations of acejas... sa mother side ko ok na halos yong amin family tree...kasi nagcooperate kami halos lahat sa mga projects namin... buti na lang at may facebook at medyo na trace ko rin kayo at pati na yong mga taga zamboanga ay sumusulat na din sa akin at may family tree na rin silang naibigay sa akin..nasa facebook pa kaya iilipat ko pa sa email ko para mailagay ko sa diary ko..

para meron ka rin idea ng family tree namin dito sa romblon, pinoporward ko sayo yong isang page ng diary na may isinulat akong kunti tungkol sa lifestory ng pamilya namin doon... yong mga kapatid ko na hindi nag graduate sa romblon high school ay yong dalawang pinakamatanda naming kapatid.. si ate aurora at ate rosing.. parang sa nueva ecija sila nag-aral... at si ate aurora ay naging valedictorian din sa high school... ang alam ko, ang father ko ay naging salutatorian sa central luzon agricultural college, high school...

ok hanggang dito na lang muna...

dear diary,

i have a friend from romblon who is now a doctor somewhere in california who has devoted himself to an annual project in romblon in connectionwith the printing of the souvenir program for the town fiesta.

i understand that over the years, he has contributed to the cost ofprinting this souvenir program in the name and honor of his late fatherand mother. he appeals in the space where his compliments or greetingsappear that the townspeople of romblon to always remember his fatherand mother.

we, who belong to the family of our parents, Salvador B, Acejas, Sr. andFlorentina J. Acejas, i believe, can also undertake such a project sothe people in romblon will always remember them too.

after all, kuyang salvador, ate ester, kuyang ted, kuyang pepito andmyself all graduated from the romblon high school. and so did most ofthe children of ate rosing including gary or bobot, manding, pio, roger,mario, marcelo, anita and rose costo. and so also did, the children ofkuyang salvador, including boy III, lilia, totoy, and alice, and maybeothers. from school due to the adverseeffects of a strong typhoon that hit romblon at the time, only to comeback to school and join our class when were in second year. he was namedour pmt batallion commander in our senior year, and he,in fact, becameour valedictorian too. in capiz where he obtained his priesthood. ofcourse, papa helped in this through the salary he earned from his job atthe marble company in the town.

kuyang pepito and roger costo graduated valedictorian of theirrespective classes. kuyang ted was elected president of the student bodyin his senior year and graduated first honorable mention.

kuyang salvador, kuyang ted, and kuyang pepito were in succession thebatallion commanders of the the pmt corps. i remember how papa was soproud of this accomplishment of my elder brothers, and i knew that hewould have been prouder still if i also were able to complete the featin my senior year. but it was not to be and i did not make the honor.

when i was younger, i always wondered why the sari-sari store mamaoperated in romblon, romblon carried
the name Madrid Store. it was onlyvery much later that i learned she named the store after her own mother,Bibiana Madrid...

i guess it was her own way of paying respect and gratitude or loyalty toher mother. and i suspect the same contributed much to the success thatmama achieved in the conduct of the business of the store.

that's how she sent all of us her children and even some of hergrandchildren to college, including her oldest grandson, norberto, tothe catholic seminary

i will continue this next time because it's time to go to bed.
